Baseball

Our baseball season has officially finished. Jakson had such a good year. His team took 2nd and he made the 7-8 yr old all star team. They had their games this past weekend up in Park City. He was so excited for these games that he hardly slept Wednesday night, and was up and ready pretty early on Thursday. Well, while they were warming up before the first game, he did not look around him and walked right in the way of a throw. It smacked him right on the forehead and knocked him down. I have never seen a bump swell up so big and so fast. It was sad. So, needless to say he wasn't playing that first game, and probably not the second one, though the second one didn't start for about 6 more hours. Halfway through the first game he wanted to go out and play, and was pretty upset that he couldn't. Then was even more upset when we wouldn't let him play the in second game. We got home late, and he went straight to bed. When he woke up the bump was down considerably, but he still had the stitches from the baseball on his head. But he was good to go and ready to play that morning. He played so well! We were so proud, this team he played the next day were 8-9 yr olds from a super league. They were so good, but Jakson only being 7 held his own. He bunted a runner in, then the next time at bat they expected another bunt, and he hit a double. He did so good. I'm so glad that he loves baseball. I come from a baseball LOVING family and Jared and his brother do to. Baseball is my very favorite thing about summer. Growing up, I spent countless hours watching baseball on t.v. with my dad, and later watching my brother play, from little league through high school. They are some of my very favorite childhood memories. I'm so glad to be able to get back into it. As a mom, its a lot more worrisome, watching him get smacked down by that ball was not fun. But, we survived, and I'm sure there will be plenty more of that.

OUCH!!!! I have never seen a bump with the stitches on it. What a trooper to get out and play though.

Owwwiiiiieeee! My little Joey just doesn't seem to be into sports. But then neither is his dad, so I guess that might be why.

Ouch! That first picture of JJ brought tears to my eyes. He looks miserable and sad. I'm glad he is okay. What a cute baseball player.
