Routines

I sure love routines. I love that school is back on. Summers are hard now that I work. I don't get to monitor the kids and their laziness. And let me tell you! They are LAZY! JJ spent 6 full hours on xbox live one day. I wanted to die, Jared thought is was hilarious. I'm not sure what else they are supposed to do really anyway, I don't let them roam the neighborhood with friends. Thank goodness they are both so active in sports I suppose. Anyway, A new school year has started and once again I dropped the ball on pics! But they looked darling. Lexi in her cheer uniform heading off to 8th grade, my very favorite school year ever, and JJ in his skinny jeans off to 5th! I can't believe they are so big already. The days are busy but they are scheduled and anyone that knows me knows I need a schedule or I freak out. So with the new school year brings cooler temps (wishing), dance, cheer and football! Lexi so far is loving school, she's made some great friends with cheer and JJ is starting quarterback for his team. It's been good for him, he has such a big personality and kids really look up to him but he tends to be more of a follower. Being QB he needs to be loud and he needs to be in charge. I hope this brings out more of a leader in him in other aspects if his life. He has the fire to do so much good! We really struggled with lexi and her school work last year, she's so much like me I have a hard time with her. For Jared to struggle with her is rare, but when he does I know it's serious. She knows what responsibilities come with being on cheer, I hope it is great motivation for her to buckle down and be serious this year. We are going at a different approach with her and really going to hold her accountable. While I just love checking grades and assignments on line, it's made her lazy in being responsible and accountable. So no more yelling, no more late nights getting last minute work in. She knows what needs to be done to stay in cheer, and she knows what it cost us and what she earned in their car wash and hopefully her math skills are good enough to figure out the difference for what she'll owe us should she be kicked off the squad. It's going to be really hard to not be on her constantly but she needs to learn. So here is to hopefully a great school year with some good changes taking place.
