5k

I finally did it. I went yesterday and signed up to run the West Fest 5K thats on Sat June 28. I have talked about doing this since May, but I really didn't think I would actually bring myself to do it. I hate branching out of my comfort zone, and I completely lack the self confidence of trying something different. And I hate that feeling of failing, so I usually just never try. So, I have pretty much gone through my ENTIRE life without really pushing my comfort zones. There are so many things that I would love to do, and wished that I had done, but my fear of failing has always held me back. So, I have decided that I don't want to add another "really wished I would have tried that" to my already lengthy list of not trying. Plus, I have worked really hard at bringing my 5k time down to about 28-29 min. I don't plan on running this for anything other than my own personal time, and just being able to say I did it. I somehow was also able to talk my sister, who doesn't run, into doing this so I couldn't back out! What a trooper. I've always wished I had a little more of her spunky attitude, to be able to try anything once. It'll be fun. So by doing this, I'll have the hardest part for me over (trying something new), and be able to run the half next spring. I've had my 5k time down for a while now, and I've been working on my 10k time. I've thought about doing the 10k race they do on July 24, but its always sooooo hot. So I'm still going back and forth on that one. I'll let you all know how we did next weekend!

YEA!!!! Go Dusty! I can't wait to hear how the race goes. I love your new attitude of not living by fear. Something I need to put into practice.

That awesome Dusty. You will do great I am sure. You have always been a runner. I remember when we attempted to start working out at Lifestyles and you would run run run forever on the tredmill while I barely got by on the eliptical. I am proud of you for going for this. Kiss the k-ette regrets goodbye!!!! LOL!

If you do the taping I will come and paint! I hate that part. Kim actually helped me and we make a great painting team.
